Wisdom From My Garden
Lessons learned in the garden are “transplanted” in this folk art style pattern designed by Kristin. Larger blocks (20”) offer excellent opportunities to stitch vines, berries, sharp curves and leaf points in a “can-do” format. Stitching techniques are the emphasis of this class as Kristin shares all her secrets for flawless, gorgeous applique. Individual help with color is provided and there is plenty of room for you to add your own “wisdom” to this jubilant garden.

Introduction to Applique
A Year in the Garden
Easy enough for beginners, yet even experienced
appliquers will enjoy learning Kristi’s secrets for
invisible, breathtaking applique. Each month of the
year is celebrated in this charming quilt, but we’ll
concentrate on the sunflowers of August. We’ll
master sharp leaf points, thin stems, gentle curves
and very round berries. Turn your creation into the
beginnings of a larger wall quilt, a table runner or a
stunning smaller hanging.
Our block is the lower left hand one in the photo.

Fine Tune Your Applique Skills - Unfolding
Have you fallen in love with the softer look of some of the new fabrics? Want to learn the best and easiest way to appliqué? This class is for you! Join Kristi in stitching her original design, Unfolding. Gather together your favorite soft as summer fabrics. Kristin will show you how to bleach darker fabrics, transforming them into faded sweetness. Now get ready to stitch bias tubes for a spiraling vine. Learn simple ways to make beautiful leaf points, circles and curves. You will love using Kristin’s tracing paper overlay technique along with needle turned appliqué for glorious stitching results.
